Repair Problems?

Sometimes, no matter how much careful you are as a driver, there will always be some jerk drivers out there who are not as careful and defensive as you are. Reckless driving can be fatal. We  often hear road accidents, drivers not wearing seat belts or drivers beating red light colliding with another car blah-blah. It's stressing me, but as a defensive driver myself, every time someone cuts me in- I just tell myself -what have I got to lose?

Bumper blues

Few days ago I was out to the grocery store and into this parking space totally unaware of the damaged wall. Okay, my fault, tried to avoid it but not so fast until I heard a loud crank. Oh no. Oh yes. Huhu. So I went out and inspect the car, obviously everything seemed normal except a minor scratch on the upper and lower right of my bumper. My reflexes are not so good this days. He. This really bothered me not because I will hear Daryl and all what he has to say, but because my darling Chris had been out for a month now after his month vacation in the auto shop when I mistakenly made a wrong turn and scratch my left bumper. So here goes another vacation! Twice in quarter already I winced in my mind. Okay, no movies in the coming weekend.

Where to?

Having a car can be quite magastos. Sure you put out your pocket for maintenance, gasoline, toll and time to time service like scratches when you're unlucky, but it's nice to have it around. For one, you don't worry much when it rains, and you don't have the excuse not to go to work. Commuting isn't fun right? So whenever I have car issues, I go to these repair shop for much affordable repair service. Toyota, Mitsubishi car shop cost so bloody expensive. The scratch on the left bumper would cost me Php12,000 per quote! I mean duh seriously?

Here's my 3 picks of affordable repair shop. They have really good prices plus you can also haggle for more discounts if you're good. Your shiny thing will be back in shape in no time at all!

Happy Independence Day

Happy independence day.  Well, today is a very remarkable day not only because everybody gets a day off but it's also a reminder to celebrate our freedom from the Spanish colony dated 1898 in Cavite. As for me, today begins my independence.. I know, I know.. it's 5 years overdue!

I smell independence..(freaks out!)

Remember the first day high? It's that kind of feeling. Excited but a  bit worried (sorry I have mega-dose of those worrying genes). There may be things I will have to let go - like a comfort zone, cooked meals when I wake up and arrive home from work, well-pressed clothes, comforting pets to talk to, feeling of security, noisy kids, all-day Disney channel because yeah you know kids.  I will miss all those and more, but I am happy find my new place where I can learn new things independently on my own, and become a big girl. (wait, what?) Anyway, enough of the drama. I am so happy to experience being independent, I survived university days, so I know I will get by.

Looking forward..

To put up comfy bed, my own small living room and dining room, and my kitchen. Looking forward to cooking sprees (If I can manage, ok let's keep our hopes high.) I can picture my tiny living room adorned with blue curtains, blue ribbons (wait what?). My designer instincts works right now in trying to convert this studio unit into something homey.
I'm planning my housewarming party in between :) Fingers crossed , hope to write a blog about it when its completed. Until then.. Fighting, fighting!

Excited for the next days,

Mussings at work

I love my work! It may hard to believe but working 9.5 hours a day from 8AM to 6:30PM exclusive of overtime that goes until 9-10PM during  Mondays and yes Fridays-is do you even have a life?!  But I still find it exciting, challenging, and yes oftentimes..draining probably because it's Friday and I have to sum up all reports for my boss to read later on.

Work just like that

I've been here for like 5 years now. I started a neophyte Technical Engineer who only knows route from home to office and vice versa. It takes another year before I became accustomed to the norms and here I am right now.

Being in a job which deals in a I wouldn't really say "man's world" but I couldn't get any closer than that, skirt-loving males (also), plant visits and trips, also round trips, kahit anong klaseng trip and out-of-town trips is one tough job. Not only you have to appear pleasant looking after driving and getting through the crazy traffic. You have to deal with end-users, managers, owners, decision makers and sulsol-tants (what did I get myself into?) You have to be very charming without trying too hard to get the info you need, you have to be persuasive without being too pushy,  you just need to get this project done by all means.

Talking to self be like

I don't know why I am even talking about this now when my work seemed to consume all my good girl genes (like right now) but, just like 5 years ago, I remind myself to keep calm, face the mirror and say you could do it. Just go sleep it over the night, woke up bright, eat breakfast, have coffee and go back to work. We all have those times that we wish we had done things differently. We undergo a phase when we are all stressed up, and we tend to give up, and we wish we are in a better position because we can't take control of things.

Frustration makes me wish a normal 8-5 day job. No need for strategies, monitoring, deliveries, deliverables, payables, finances, meetings, and nosy managers and manager's manager but I am proud I somehow managed it (silent claps). When I get too tired because of out of town trips, I cheer myself that I am lucky I don't have to stay in the office to stare at my computer whole day. Yes!

My prayer

Just before I go home tonight at a little half past 11PM, I pray that tomorrow I will have the energy again to do what is needed to be done, and try hard to exceed what I have accomplished today.

So whatever, wherever, and whenever you feel down...I am also writing this to myself. Take a break right now! As in right now. Get some cold beer, yes.. pair it with some chicharon bulaklak you really enjoy, or fried chicken di ba? or whatever you feel like eating tonight. But please, please...do not give up okay?! Find the excuse to get drunk tonight, but please make sure to report tomorrow! Daijoubo! Daijoubo!

Stay strong and alive,

Its the 26th

We are down to the last days of March, and summer is starting to slather and toss us all in heat. My first quarter's up and I am looking forward to the 2nd one with much plans ahead. So while I enjoy my time prepping and finalizing itinerary for the-ultimate-summer-bonding-with-girlfriends in short sleepover at Betsy's place, summer outing with colleagues, and stretching weekend date in between with my not-so-busy-schedule. I' m making the most of my March!

Speaking of which, I wanted to write down today's celebration, beats me its our 6-year-and-3rd-months! How I wish I can go back to our first few months of being couple, I'd sure do a 100-day-celebration, and 1000-day-celebration etc.etc. You see, late bloomer ako... so I'm making up trying to be extra sweet.

Currently, I am working on our scrap book- putting our trips together, dining out, simple Sundate, coffee-during-random-days , birthday celebration and many more! Sure I have this posted on my social media accounts (naks, social media daw) but you see I love doing this the old fashion way. I love to feel the photos and actually touch it, even caption it. Also, being able to check it anytime even during power black-out (I'm exaggerating I know) or when I'm being sentimental and melodramatic.

Anyway, shall I give you a quick tour of this love affair?

***2009***

Graduation made special because of his mere presence.
He has to fly from Manila in order to attend my degree graduation. Happy heart 2x!

Not only that, he was there to celebrate and congratulate me when results for board exams was posted. During Christmas celebrations with both family, countless-fiesta-trek, when I had allergies :( Did I mention during job-hunting too? He waited patiently for every interviews to finish and make sure I was okay. He was always there when I'm feeling low and ready to cheer me up and hugs me back. My best friend and soul-mate in one.

***2010***

He insists we should spend summer vacation together.

Later every year, we made sure to celebrate summer together.

Reunited at last! Summer outing  in 2010

Valentines Day

Fast forward to now, he is still the same-sweet-boyfriend..only a lot busier! I think we've matured a lot in this relationship. It's not about who-said-what-and-who-was-wrong or why you- didn't-text-me-first? It's all about understanding, respecting, and supporting each other's dreams.

So while he is busy with work and school, and me on my out-of-town-trips which my work demands, Skype, face time comes in handy and if 'may time' a 20-min coffee moment can be squeezed in. That's how we spent our happy 26th, every moment is precious and yes the feeling remains the same!

Happy 26th lovey! Even if you hate me for my driving..
I still love you till my next life!

Love,

Voyager à travers le monde

Traveling

is the only thing that makes you richer.

Exactly. I love this quote. To travel the world was one of my childhood dreams.. and I know with a little push to go for it, one day I will make memories of traveling the entire world.
True to say, traveling cost an arm and leg but the vast experience you get after coming back always fortify the spirit and makes you appreciate more of the world, to share to others, and yes ...understand more of other's cultures!

This article is not something to read about, just my written pinky promise and a little inspiration also of what I want to do this 2014. Traveling gives a different kind of fulfillment. It opens the eyes, warms the heart and frees the mind.

No hesitation, I will leave when my heart says me to go. More travels, More memories, more happiness!

I promise to see more of the world, gradually, I can make it happen!

Sights and Scenes of Splendid China

Still feeling that familiar Disney feeling, our tour bus brought us to our next and final stop over to China. Yes, you heard me right. Our tour guide settled those who will be going to Macau and those who have tours to China. We transferred to a separate vehicle that will take us to East MTR Station going to Lo Wu Station, China.

Shenzhen is located northern part of Hongkong and is in Southern part of Guangdong Province, China. It's a 45-minute train ride from the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station plus another 30 minutes for immigration and boarding formalities.
Our tourguide Mark met us at the station and gave us our visas prior to entering. It was a good thing that our group visa's already included in the tour. Shenzhen visa is valid for 5 days within the Special Economic Zone, but you cannot travel further to China unless you have a valid Chinese Visa.

It was past 9:00 PM when we finished with the immigration and some drizzles welcomed us to China. We checked in at our hotel barely sleepy and grumpy because we found out that our souvenir was nowhere to be found! I felt really bad but I can't suppose to ruin the remaining tour for some lost souvenir right?

Good morning China!

We almost didn't make it on breakfast at the hotel, but we managed what remains from a supposedly "buffet breakfast". We had a good memory about it sharing hearty laughter's over some rich Yangchow, hot omelette and tasty coffee!

downtown Shenzhen reminds of our busy and crowded streets in Quiapo area

The Bamboo Factory

Next is a trip to Bamboo Factory, featuring products from bamboo skinned from its trunk and leaves to make absorbent towels, photoframes, coveralls, haircovers, shawls and many more. So interesting to learn all that, huh when I could only think of bamboo as ornaments, I remember that one poem my sis used to read me: Pliant is a bamboo. Indeed it is pliant, versatile, bending over and beyond, stretching itself to make different useful things!  So I got myself a couple of towels and hair covers while pliant is a bamboo on my head. Hehe

Shennan Blvd..the longest boulevard in Shenzhen

Window of the World

One of the major attractions of Shenzhen is Window of World. A themepark that housed replica of Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids, Taj Mahal and other wonders of the world. It will literally take you to any corners of of the world in just one day.

Photo with the group of Holy Land pilgrims . . .

Lunch for the day together with some newly found friends!

getting ready for our cable car ride, the ride will cost you RMB68 or approximately Php500.

Onboard the train for a quick tour around the whole City ..

View from the top is Window of the World...

A more serious group photo here..

And now we're back at Hongkong Airport for our flight back to MNL

We happen to meet Suzie and friends! Nice seeing you here Ms. Suzie.

And so that ends my short but splendid tour. We were back in Manila before I knew it...before I can even shake myself to go back to work the next day because I'm so full of cold weather, Chinese foods, aromatic tea,  and Disneyland, China.

It was a really good tour except for the lost souvenirs. But 'll come back to know more of China, maybe Beijing next time?!

XieXie Hongkong & China!

Disney Dream

Barely our second day, and we've been to a lot of places already. From a full-packed city tour, a boat ride to Aberdeen, jewelry window shopping and  of course souvenir shopping wanting to remember the place. Of course, the day will not be done without a visit to everyone's child dream place- to Hongkong Disneyland. So an afternoon temperature that dropped to 10 deg won't stop our magical tour to the Disneyland.

Took us at least an hour travel from our souvenir stop to the happiest place in the world at Penny's Bay.

The Happiest Place  in the World

Yey, we're here!

This place brought back so many thrills I had when I was small...

Perhaps its the thought that you are walking on the Main St. Hongkong Disneyland, and the distinct Disney music playing in the background, or the enchanting Sleeping Beauty Castle from afar that gives you a different kind of happiness.

A closer look of the castle!

Flights of Fantasy

The Disney Princesses! I was one of those who cheered..

Lovely Tinkerbell

Food choices here

or here, we stopped over for some quick late lunch

Busy with some photo souvenir because of long queues, as in all rides!!!

And met some friends along the way.. hihi

Festival of the King 'Lion King' is a must see!

Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse everywhere!!!

Call time to meet our tourguide is at 7PM, time to say goodbye to the happiest place on earth even so we were happy that we still got the time to watch the best, if not the most magical fireworks over Sleeping Beauty castle. So when it concluded the night, we stood in awe, barely breathing, with all the "oohss" and "wowsss" of other children and child-like fellas like us. Too bad our cam batteries were bluntly drained..but you have to be there..really have to be there to know what I'm talking about!!!

We couldn't contain our happy faces, it feels like nothing else matters but the beautiful fireworks, the familiar Disney a whole new world song, and the magic lives on...

Next stop to Shenzhen China

Happiness,
